Product Overview

Waabiny Time (Playing Time) is an engaging and educational thirteen-part television series that takes children from the ages of 3 to 6 on an entertaining adventure, guiding them through stories, songs and activities that are authentically indigenous and encourage participation.

Waabiny Time is deadly (great) fun!

The series entertains and educates all children through its themes, activities and enthusiastic and talented indigenous presenters. With twenty-eight original songs, animation, traditional 'sand stories', crafts and excursions into Noongar country, classrooms, and family gatherings, Waabiny Time is a rich resource for all schools which builds knowledge and understanding in all Australians about the heritage of our Aboriginal peoples and their unique cultures.

Using Waabiny Time in the classroom

Each of the thirteen, 26-minute episodes is structured around a theme and has segments that are carried through each one. This study guide describes how to use these segments, with lesson ideas based on the concepts and activities in each episode as well as extension activities with worksheets that can be photocopied. The television series and study guide can be used with all children, Aboriginal and non Aboriginal.
