Holes is the story of Stanley Yelnats, an unusual young hero dogged by bad luck stemming from an ancient family curse. When Stanley is sent to Camp Green Lake for a crime he did not commit, he is in for the adventure of his life. Outlaws, onions, spotted lizards and a cure for smelly feet all find their way into Stanley's world … as he and his campmates dig holes everyday in the baking sun. But there is more to this than meets the eye … Holes provides a focus for developing learning outcomes from levels 4-6 across Key Learning Areas, including English, SOSE, Science, Health and The Arts.
