A musician and fervent campaigner for inclusion, access and equality, Elly-May Barnes leads the quest to create two bands made up entirely of musicians with disability. She’ll have the support and sage advice of revered musicians Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi), who will mentor and guide the bands throughout rehearsals.

Together, they will transform a group of strangers into must-see acts, set to play on the main stage of an iconic music festival – in just seven weeks! Other famous faces mentoring the bands include Jimmy Barnes AO, Delta Goodrem AM and Ben Gillies (Silverchair).

A celebration of music and inclusion, this series seeks to uncover extraordinary talent that has, until now, mostly been excluded from Australia’s mainstream music landscape. Almost 20 per cent of Australians live with a disability, but that community is grossly underrepresented in the mainstream music scene.

All the participants on this journey will face steep learning curves as they fight to break down barriers and face individual challenges as they prepare for the performance of a lifetime in front of 14,000 people.
