The Adolescent Male Personality and American Youth Films: A Sociological Approach

This article analyses the changing representations of the adolescent male personality in American youth films over time, looking at such films as Rebel Without a Cause (Nicholas Ray, 1955), The Graduate (Mike Nichols, 1967) and Harold and Maude (Hal Ashby, 1972), among others from the late 1940s to the 1980s.
