Twisted Hope, Rising from the Mud: Himizu

With his history of nihilistic films, Japanese director Sion Sono isn't usually associated with optimism. But his latest film, Himizu, which screened at the 2012 Melbourne International Film Festival, suggests a new vision may be emerging from disaster, writes Richard Gray.
