'Television features' refers to a cycle of feature films, mostly of the nineties, derived from television series of the late fifties, sixties and early seventies. Variously described as adaptations, updates, homages, remakes, recyclings, recreations, resurrections, sequels and spin-offs, these television features are heavily imbricated – like the tele-series that inspire them – with patterns of repetition. This article considers some of the textual and contextual aspects of repetition in these tele-series, before going on to present a preliminary survey and broad taxonomy of television features, both as televised reunion episodes and as mainstream theatrical releases.
