Songs from the Heart, Sung on the Street: Daniel Ziv's Jalanan

In Jalanan, Daniel Ziv paints a picture of life, love and music on the streets of Jakarta. But in showing middle-class Westerners – and even middle-class Indonesians – the struggles of three street buskers, the documentary also conveys a political message about the problems with economic inequality, writes Dan Edwards.
