Product Overview

St Mary's church in Brisbane was at the centre of one of the biggest rifts in the history of the Australian Catholic Church when parish priest, Father Peter Kennedy, was dismissed by the Catholic Church for unorthodox practices in February, 2009. The fight that followed resulted in the exodus of an entire Catholic community as they followed their priest into the unknown. The Trouble with St Mary's is an observational documentary that tells the story of how this happened and what happened next.

The Trouble with St Mary's would be of interest to senior secondary students and teachers of Religion and Society, SOSE/HSIE, Values Education, Philosophy, Civics and Citizenship and Media Studies as well as to students studying Religion and Society and Community Studies at tertiary level.
