On a fateful night in 2006, 26-year-old mother-of-two Elizika had her life crushed in a head-on collision with a drunk driver tearing down a dirt road. The accident was horrific and Elizika lost two precious things in her life that night – her beautiful ten-week-old baby girl Bevaanee and her own ability to walk. Eight years later, Elizika shares her story about surviving such a devastating ordeal. It's a story of courage, resilience and strength from a young woman who has beaten the odds and dreams of walking again.

'Elizika' is one of three standalone episodes of the documentary series From the Western Frontier, featuring the work of Western Australian Indigenous documentary directors and writers. Supported by ScreenWest and NITV, this documentary series features the individual stories of everyday Indigenous Australians who have a unique and inspirational story to tell. These contemporary documentaries highlight how specific moments in time can change an individual's journey, making them the person that they are today.
