'Hype about New Zealand (NZ) as a low-cost location for film/TV production has led to large numbers of students enrolling in the country's public tertiary and private film/TV schools. Not unreasonably, most of the students seeking film/TV production certificates, diplomas and degrees seek employment's as 'creatives' in that industry. However, industry sources and independent studies indicate that employment opportunities in New Zealand in film/TV are rare and becoming rarer, as the impact of technology forever changes the film/TV industry. This should be, but apparently isn't, creating ethical dilemmas for the public tertiary and private film schools. Outcomes fo larger numbers of film/TV students could be bleak.'
