Stop the Ships: Elysium, Asylum Seekers and the Battle over Sovereign Borders

It's a world in which a huge portion of the population are denied safety, healthcare and freedom simply because of where they were born. In which those desperate enough to attempt to reach greener pastures face imprisonment, violence and even death. It exists in a futuristic Hollywood fiction, but, writes Suzie Gibson, it's a world not so different from our own.
