Sparkly Fish out of Water: The City Meets the Outback in Priscilla

As Australians, we often see ourselves as 'belonging' to either the city or the bush. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (Stephan Elliott, 1994) reconciles the two by depicting and juxtaposing extreme contrasts of both, through the often spectacular clashes of light and colour against the barely inhabited landscapes encountered during the journey.
