The inaugural speaker for the Jack Clancy Lecture was the Reverend Tim Costello, minister of the Collins Street Baptist Church in Melbourne, and prominent in Victoria for his forthright opinions on matters of public duty, social responsibility and moral values. He has been critical of many aspects of Victorian government policy, especially its policy towards Crown Casino and the Grand Prix.
