Beginning as a small Sydney-based film collective, Static Vision was thrust into the online space by the COVID-19 pandemic, using the opportunity to curate events that were at once accessible, conceptually and aesthetically radical, and tailored to a young, physically disconnected audience. Speaking to co-founders Conor Bateman and Felix Hubble, Louise Sheedy describes the project's online broadcast model, uncompromising programming and shambolic sensibilities as a much-needed intervention in a film culture too wedded to commercial considerations and institutional cautiousness.
