Ten Years comprises five shorts – each by a local director – that portend the dispiriting future Hong Kong may face after it is 'repatriated' to mainland China, following over a century of British rule. David Crewe teases out the political messages contained in this anthology film, and examines the curious combination of censorship and celebration that it has encountered.
