Australian television comedies tend to play it safe – something about the workplace, the stumbling bogan, the sincere but simple-minded underdog. In The Moodys, however, what viewers get are convincing family squabbles, a dose of self-reflexivity, and a larrikin hero we can truly sympathise with, writes Byron Bache.
