The Prodigal Son is a documentary suitable for senior secondary students by Tony Radevski and Tom Zubrycki. The film won the Flickerfest IF Media Award for Most Popular Film at Flickerfest 2006. This film is the story of first-generation migrant parents, Alexo and Ljubica, who struggle with the revelation of their son Ted's homosexuality. After Ted 'came out' to his parents his father refused to speak to him, resulting in a fifteen-year estrangement that was only overturned when Alexo discovered he had cancer and began speaking to Ted again.

The Prodigal Son calls attention to the conflicts that may arise as a result of being honest about one's sexuality if it differs from the norm. It examines the possibilities of reconciliation not only between father and son but the entire family.
