Product Overview

Five women, one panel, any topic, no shame!

Presented by a panel of five Indigenous women who aren't afraid to speak honestly, Straight Shootin' is a lively and unapologetic look at Indigenous life. Straight Shootin' is hosted by the Queen of the Kimberley and national icon, Mary G. The other panel members include Rosanna Angus, Dr Sue Gordon AM, Meggan Grose, Marianne Mackay and Tammy Solonec.

Executive producer of Straight Shootin' Kelrick Martin wanted to create a show where 'our mob can openly speak about issues that they were either afraid or unwilling to publicly discuss before, and in doing so proactively take control of their lives and motivate each other toward making their own positive lifestyle choices'.

Each episode of Straight Shootin' discusses three subjects of relevance to Indigenous Australians and provides a diverse range of Indigenous opinion.

This study guide to accompany Straight Shootin' provides information and suggestions for learning activities in Australian History, Civics and Citizenship, English, Humanities and Social Sciences and Indigenous Studies. The series is suitable for middle and senior secondary students.
