Robots is a G-rated animated film that will appeal to primary students, that tells the story of Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor),a young robot from a small town with a remarkable talent when it comes to invention. He works in a restaurant beside his dad, who is a dishwasher, but Rodney dreams of bigger things. To his mother's horror, he decides to leave his home town to meet his idol, Bigweld, the amazing inventor (Mel Brooks), who has spent his life creating things that will make the lives of robots better.

Robots is a film that will be enjoyed by junior to upper primary. With a blend of humour and subtle messages, this film provides opportunities for students to engage with and examine the plot, character development, settings, representation, animation and production design. Teachers can select from and adapt the teaching and learning activities in the study guide to suit the needs, abilities and interests of their students.

From the makers of Ice Age, the film is engaging and has high production values and together with the study guide provides many activities across various subject areas.
