Great Australian Albums (ATOM Study Guide)

This four-part documentary series about Australian music explores the work of four bands. Each 50-minute episode is as different as the bands being profiled. Taken together the programs provide a fascinating insight into the history and development of Australian contemporary music from the 1970s to the present.

Great Australian Albums is a documentary series that examines four of the all-time classic Australian albums – (I'm) Stranded by The Saints, Born Sandy Devotional by The Triffids, Woodface by Crowded House and Diorama by Silverchair.

Unlike any Australian music documentary before it, Great Australian Albums dives headlong into the creative process, uncovers the creative goals the artists set for themselves, and reveals how they were achieved. As becomes quickly apparent, none of these albums were easy to make and each of the artists were faced with their own hurdles, be they creative, personal, emotional, financial, physical or political.
