Family Confidential takes us inside the lives and homes of some of our most famous and influential families – as they reveal the private story behind the public face.
Families featured here include those of Deborra-lee Furness and Hugh Jackman, as well as flamboyant odd couple, Geoffrey Robertson QC and Kathy Lette; outback legend RM Williams; celebrated painter Charles Blackman; modern-day prophet, Tim Costello; and the family behind supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Through the eyes of key players we experience those times and events that have shaped and/or shocked us – and gain a compelling new understanding from the inside out.
Through interview, public and private archive and actuality, family members share the profound repercussions of the public and private events that have marked their family's extraordinary trajectory. Each brings their own perspective to bear on their family saga – with candour and emotion.
And each offers, for the first time, a new and deeply personal understanding of how those dramas continue to influence them – and us – today.
None of the families included here have shared their family story in public before.
Now they take us inside their homes and lives to reveal what it means to be at the centre of history, then and now.
In doing so, each family allows us to share experiences that make us laugh, cry, despair and celebrate. They also make us rethink many of our long held assumptions, including our understanding of the true meaning of family.
