Country New South Wales 1968, The Sapphires are the McCrae Sisters, four gorgeous Motown-crazy singers. When a talent scout discovers their Supremes cover band in St Kilda's Tiki Club, dreams of fame, fortune and glamorous international careers seem close at hand. Instead, these Soul Diva's find themselves in the war zone of Vietnam. But for the McCrae girls, the realisation of a lifelong dream to perform overseas isn't quite what they had in mind. They're off to sing to the troops on the front line. 

Originally written by Tony Briggs for the stage, The Sapphires is inspired by the true story of Tony's mother's experiences as an entertainer in war-torn Vietnam.
