Second World War and Your Community, The: Short Films (Primary)

Presenting a showcase of the finalist short films from the 1-Minute Film Competition 2020. The theme for 2020 was The Second World War and Your Community.

Entries focused on a particular aspect of this topic, such as mateship in hard times, recruitment, the experience of troops, nurses, families and friends of those who served, or another Second World War topic meaningful to their community. Similarly, 'community' was a broad concept. For entrants, community could be their school, town, family and friends, or their whole country.

Entrants were mindful to honour the service and sacrifice of all those who have served.

Students around Australia and New Zealand were invited to create a 1-minute film adhering to the theme and submit it into one of the following four categories:

•    Lower Primary (Years F–3)
•    Upper Primary (Years 4–6)
•    Lower Secondary (Years 7–9)
•    Upper Secondary (Years 10–12)

The twelve featured films in this collection are from the primary school categories.
