  • Rudy Buckley, an indigenous resident of Rabaul, who talks about his experiences as a twelve-year-old during the Japanese occupation;
  • Len Woolf, a former Australian Army soldier who evaded Japanese forces to escape from New Britain;
  • Lorna Whyte Johnston, a former Australian Army nurse and ex-POW;
  • Norm Furness, a former Australian Army soldier who evaded the enemy to escape from New Britain;
  • John Holland, who talks about his dad Frank Holland, a former Z Special Unit operative who saved many Rabaul escapees;
  • Fred Kollmorgen, a former Australian Army soldier and sole Salvation Army band survivor, who evaded Japanese forces to escape from New Britain;
  • John Kepchia, an American Gruman radio operator and gunner, who was shot down and imprisoned in Rabaul;
  • Joe Nason, an American SBD Douglas Dauntless dive bomber pilot, who was shot down and imprisoned in Rabaul.
