SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream? is a satirical, solutions-led impact documentary about Australia’s housing crisis.
Presented by comedian and renter Mark Humphries, SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream? spends time with ordinary Australians for whom the ‘Australian Dream’ of becoming a homeowner seems impossible. Especially now that property investors and tax incentives have turned the dream of owning your own home into the dream of owning someone else’s.
Mark spends time with fellow renters and consults real estate agents, academics and financial experts to work out when and why housing in Australia went so terribly wrong.
Housing in Australia is a social justice issue. With so many Australians unable to attain affordable, appropriate and secure housing, Mark wonders which of the many solutions is the silver bullet that will help Australia make a dent in its housing crisis.
With an associated impact campaign and a growing list of partners, SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream? aims to inform, entertain and make a difference.
