Amid all the concern about shielding children from inappropriate sites, the seemingly innocuous advertising that exists on child-friendly sites is often overlooked. Lisa Kervin reports on a study undertaken in 2014 that looks at the advertising children are exposed to online, and how teachers can guide students to critically engage with such content.
