Media education in primary school is relevant to both English and the arts, and all of the activities in this article teach key concepts that are central to both subject areas. Students should compare and contrast texts created in different media, and analyse, understand and create media and digital texts. These activities can all be done using basic classroom materials along with newspapers, magazines, photographs and television.
