Media Education as Literacy Education

'We challenge the assumption that media education borrows exclusively from (mass) communications and, secondly, argue that the principle goal of media education ought to be the development of literacy.' This article looks at media education as a part of English (historical and theoretical perspectives) and researches the connections between media education and literacy.
