The ever-increasing complexity and sophistication of children's films perhaps reached its peak with Pixar's groundbreaking 2015 animation, in which audiences are literally taken inside a young character's head to explore her complicated emotional responses. The film continues to offer an excellent way to teach the value of ostensibly negative emotions to primary students, writes Louise Lavery.
