In her analysis of Primary Colours, Daly points out that election films can be informative with respect to the nature of contemporary democracy. In ways both overt and unintentional, they illustrate for audiences ways in which the political and aesthetic realms have become less distinct under current political-economic conditions and thus the bases upon which we assess their relative merits. Daly places special emphasis on the image of presidency and the importance of PR and financial sponsorship in the American Presidential Elections.
