This Rachel Griffiths–fronted SBS series taps into a wealth of tropes and archetypes in bringing to life a Sydney saga of crime, corruption and complicated relationships. Notably, it also features a medley of strong female characters – but playing the numbers game doesn't quite make up for well-crafted storytelling, writes Aimee Knight.
