Threadbare Shorts

'One of the hardest things for a short film or video-maker to do is to find a way to make audiences care deeply about a character and their situation within the compressed period of screen time they have to tell a story. Even if a short film does manage to do this, does it have anything tangible to say about life or the way it's lived?' Daivd King watches six AFC-funded short films and asks if they manage to do any or all of these things.
