Mario Andreacchio's film The Dragon Pearl is notable as the first film produced under the Australia–China co-production treaty signed in 2007. Andreacchio is also one of the driving forces behind the Australia China Screen Alliance, which aims to encourage and facilitate cooperation between Australian filmmakers and their Chinese counterparts. In this interview with Cheung Ki-fung and Mike Walsh, the director speaks about the challenges and possibilities presented by Australian–Chinese co-productions.
