Human Flow masterfully captures the wide-scale movements of diverse, often-displaced groups of people across the planet and the way these migrations reshape its physical and human geography. But, at heart, Ai Weiwei's documentary is about the reprehensible conditions that asylum seekers must contend with as well as the responsibility our governments have to confront the very real consequences of their exclusionary policies, writes Hanna Schenkel.
