'In the late 1960's Roger Simpson worked as barrister in New Zealand while writing gags part time for a variety show. In 1970 he came to Australia to spruik a series called 'The Investigators' which was based on the then mining boom in Western Australia. When the boom crashed and the series failed to get made he did a 2 week course for new writers at Crawford Productions and became a staff writer there on such shows as 'Division 4' and 'Homicide'. Here he met Roger Le Mesurier. Recently, their partnership with Beyond saw the company rival Crawfords' legendary output in having no less than four drama series on the air at the same time: 'Stingers', 'Halifax FP', 'Something In The Air' and 'Dogwoman'.' Paul Davis interviews Roger Simpson.
