Upon marrying his long-suffering girlfriend, a commitment-phobic everyman finds himself skipping a year ahead in his life with every few minutes that pass in Josh Lawson's inventive, slyly sophisticated romantic comedy. While its conclusion may be a little too neat and some of its emotionally immature protagonist's blind spots are ultimately left unexamined, the film offers an otherwise deft balance of genre fidelity and thematic depth, argues Travis Johnson.
