Held in New York, the first Women in Screen Workshop brought eight aspiring Australian and US filmmakers together to learn from experienced professionals on how to make their mark in a male-dominated industry. Speaking to mentors and participants, Kate Robertson passes on some of the key pieces of advice the latter received, along with the impacts that the event has had on their practice.
