'A short film-maker for the last nineteen years, Anthony Lucus' latest offering, "Holding Your Breath" had the honour of being the only Australian Film in Official Competition at the recent Cannes Film Festival - quite an achievement for a 'lowly animator' ... Commissioned by SBSI, the AFC and Film Victoria as part of the 'Home Moves' initiative, 'Holding Your Breath' presents an adolescent girl's world-view as she "finds life and death down by the riverbank (in a) gritty industrial town of smoke and machines." It is the latest in a trilogy of works set in the spindly sepia world of Lucas' "The Shadowlands".'
