Emerging alongside a string of local and international films dramatising the effects of dementia on those with the condition as well as their loved ones, JJ Winlove's debut feature deftly mixes feel-good comedy with poignant observation. Comparing and contrasting the film with these other recent works, David Michael Brown examines the social benefit of films that, like June Again, foster audience identification with marginalised people rather than settling for mere representation.
