Last year's follow-up to Kriv Stenders' 2011 film about the eponymous famed canine is just as loveable as its forebear. But, far from merely peddling romanticised mythic images of a long-gone Arcadian outback, Red Dog: True Blue also offers commentaries – however subtle – on masculinity, environmentalism and political change in Australia, writes Dave Hoskin.
