The web series is still a relatively new artform, but because it's unencumbered by the need to make money, it affords content producers more opportunities to take artistic risks – and immense potential to empower minorities. Jessica Alice discusses five series from Australia and New Zealand that depict, in distinct but equally compelling ways, the experiences of, variously, women, LGBTQIA individuals and people of colour.
