In an extract from his upcoming memoir, Reel Life – Real life: Some Scenes Objectionable, Ginnane describes how his consulting to Filmways and Richard Franklin on the international distribution of The True Story of Eskimo Nell at the Cannes Film festival in 1975 led to his decision to favour a producer career path rather than a director career path and later that year, to move forward into production of Fantale (or Fantasm as it was ultimately to be titled).
