Product Overview

Tempest at the Drop-In follows the progress of five professional theatre practitioners and six members of the St Kilda Drop-In Centre who are living with serious mental health problems. The two groups come together to rehearse and perform a production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. We experience the full spectrum of human emotions – triumph, pain, laughter, tears, happiness and heartbreak – as together the disparate groups create a performance that is completely and utterly unique.

The documentary provides viewers with a touching and intimate insight into the lives of those involved in the production, as well as shining a light on the importance of mental health and the significant role that welfare organisations and volunteers play within communities.
