Season three of Beyond the Fire takes an honest look at the frustrations and triumphs on the road to recovery three years after the Black Summer Bushfire Crisis. In this one hour special we take an exclusive look at the triumphant power of community-led recovery after the catastrophic natural disaster.
Set against the stunning backdrops of the Upper Murray, East Gippsland, and Alpine Shires, local heroes share wisdom and insight into their recovery journey and testify through a lens of hope about how they rebuilt – physically, emotionally and mentally – despite the red tape. We explore the importance of ‘community supporting community’ to reduce the stigma around mental health and provide lifesaving, first hand insight on how we can potentially prevent the magnitude of the Black Summer Bushfire Crisis reoccurring.
Interviews from locals and experts in the field are interlaced with breathtaking cinematography of the landscape and powerful testimonies to create a thought-provoking documentary as a catalyst for change. In addressing the red tape preventing communities and individuals from moving forward, Beyond the Fire: Resilience gives voice to those crying for changes in government policy.
