In the second season of Beyond the Fire, we take an exclusive look at the triumphant power of communities banding together at grassroots level, to rebuild life from ashes two years after the Black Summer Bushfire Crisis.

Set against the stunning backdrop of East Gippsland, Australia, local heroes from communities share wisdom and insight into their recovery journey, and testify through a lens of hope about how they rebuilt, physically, emotionally and mentally.

Through this powerful story Beyond the Fire: Recovery highlights the importance of ‘community supporting community’ to reduce the stigma around mental health and provides lifesaving, first hand insight on how we can possibly prevent the magnitude of The Black Summer Bushfire Crisis reoccurring.

These heroes not only share a wealth of first-hand experience and knowledge on surviving a major crisis, but also provide our audience with tools and wisdom on how to handle mental health conversations with a loved one experiencing crisis. Interviews from locals and experts in the field are interlaced with cinematic vision of community efforts and powerful testimonies to create a thought-provoking documentary as a catalyst
for change.
