The My Way series, to be screened on SBS later this year, includes a selection of documentaries that aim to approach stories of individual lives in a different way. The series provides an opportunity to explore storytelling and characterisation in concise, inventive and innovative forms, including the weird, the wonderful, the unexpected, the uplifting and the inspiring.
Two half-hour documentaries in this series were previewed at the Nova Cinema on 20 February 2002, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. Still Breathing is directed by Charlotte Roseby and produced by Nell White and Charlotte Roseby. Schtick Happens is directed by Macieji Wiszelaki and produced by Bronwyne Smith and Peter George. This article discusses the film Still Breathing, which explores the inner journey of Rob Fraser, who has cystic fibrosis and does not have long to live.
