Cinematic depictions of disability are few and far between; responsible, authentic examples are even rarer. But two recent Australian rom-coms have taken up the mantle, dispensing with the genre's reductive tropes around sacrifice, struggle and being 'saved' in favour of complex stories about vulnerable humanity, writes Alistair Baldwin.
