'An issue of concern to most short film/video-makers is getting their films or videos screened and seen by audiences. Many beginning film/video-makers aim at certain festivals, finish their films, send them to the chosen festivals and, to their great shock, get rejected. It doesn't necessarily mean their films are no good, simply that the selection committees made decisions favouring other films.' David King outlines some alternative options for screening short films, and focuses on a new phenonmenon called microcinema, which is widenening the audience possibilites for short film and video-makers worldwide.
