This is a recording of our full day Professional Learning (PL) seminar held in person at Wurun Senior Campus and online on Zoom in December 2023.
Kayla McCarthy, Daniel Christiansz and Travis Mckenzie took teachers through the new Media Study Design to equip them with knowledge, resources and reassurance going into the new year. This session is aimed at all teachers, new and established, teaching within the new study design. Click here for the seminar aimed at new and returning teachers.
The seminar will cover key knowledge and key skills of the refreshed units, to assist teachers in delivering the study design at a high standard.

Kayla McCarthy is a VCE Media and junior Art & Design teacher, and Learning Area Manager for Visual Arts at Parkdale Secondary College. Kayla is a current ATOM Education Committee member and also a VCAA Assessor. She is a passionate media teacher who enjoys film theory and developing curriculum.
Travis McKenzie leads the Arts and Technology Learning Area at the new Wurun Senior Campus and is the current Chair of the ATOM education committee. He has worked with VCAA as a curriculum consultant, developing content for the revised Media Study Design as well as Art Making and Exhibiting. He has previously been on the selection panel for Top Screens, and is a sessional workshop leader in the College of Arts and Education at Victorian University. Travis also writes a column for AEU News Victoria.
Daniel Christiansz is a VCE Media Teacher who has filmed professionally in Timor, India, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and the Philippines. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Global Media Communications and is a teacher of the state's largest cohort of Year 12 Media students at Virtual School Victoria.
