What's Wrong with Scandal?

The Pratt/Hitchcock/Page romp has it all: money, sex, malevolent goings-on and resourceful femmes fatales. The hype has a Turn of the Screw meets The Star Report ring about it – a touch of Jackie Collins does John Grisham, with some Ally McBeal-esque courtroom surrealism thrown in. But is it a twist on the scandal template, or another thinly disguised morality tale?
